what is your niche market

What is a Niche Market – Find Your Market

A niche market is a specific focus inside of a market. A niche market product would be aimed to solve a problem inside of a market.

An example of this would be the market for shoes. Companies like Nike, Reebok, and Addidas have niche markets for every pair of shoes they develop(Running, walking, basketball, so on and so forth)

Sometimes when people are first getting started online, the first question they have is, what is my niche market?

I can help you figure out your niche market.

What is my niche?

When you decide to start, you want your niche to be something you enjoy. I always suggest you start with a niche that is already a passion of yours, a hobby, or an interest.

Every niche can create an income online because there are billions of people searching different topics every day.

Anything you can think of is either a market or already a specific market (niche) and that’s why you should be interested in that topic, to begin with.

Sometimes finding what your interest is can be hard. So I posted a video to help you pick your niche.

Your niche is really a need. A need that a group of people have. You can solve these problems and create an income for yourself. The way these people will find you is with SEO marketing. (You can learn all about SEO marketing here)

Your niche is just a group of people

To simplify everything, a niche is just a group of people looking for things. When you select your niche, you want to avoid being too broad. That is where people fail when selecting a niche.

There will be many people searching for what you choose as your niche. If it is too broad, they will never find you and will get lost in the traffic of online searches.

There are plenty of ways to break down a broad niche into a much more focused niche.

Here is a blog that will help you see what other people are saying about breaking down too broad of niches.

What your niche needs

You need to get excited when you choose your niche. It is a subject that you picked so make sure it is something you enjoy! This is what you need to understand before you select your niche.

(1) You are going to be writing content within your niche.
(2) You are going to be communicating within your niche.
(3) You are going to be choosing products to promote within your niche.
(4) You need to enjoy helping people within your niche.
(5) Your first niche PROBABLY won’t be your last (so don’t worry about it being perfect).
(6) Any niche can become a “full time” successful business.

Your niche selection will never be the wrong selection!

Do not be afraid to pick your niche.

Your niche can change over time.

Do not think what you pick now is what you have to have forever.

It is okay to change. We are people we change constantly.

Just get started.

  1. I love your website site! You have so much useful information on all your posts! I am checking in here as I keep working on my makeup blog! Keep all the informative info coming!

  2. Hi!
Your explanation about what is a niche market is very detailed. I teach marketing and I have explained this concept to my student.
To explain what them what is a niche market I start by reminding them about what is a market. A market is a group of customers. From this you can start to explain the term niche market, since most people when they firstly hear this concept, they don’t know that when you say niche market, you are referring to customers, so people.

    1. Thank you! When I was in college I majored in marketing. We went into a lot of details in marketing. The only consistent information is that marketing is for people by people. You cannot forget that when you start building your own niche website!

  3. I think finding a niche is probably my greatest challenge when I started building my website in 2015. I went too broad before zooming in on a relevant niche. My mistake was thinking of niche in terms of topics like personal development, which is a very huge niche by itself.

  4. Really informative. you really covered the entire aspect of a niche. I already knew what a niche was but i learned a couple of things from this post. You must be really experienced with affiliate marketing. I can tell because you’re so knowledgeable about the topic. I can also tell that you enjoyed writing this content. great work my man!

    1. Teddy,

Those are very kind words, and Not really my website is only about a month old at this point. I take a lot of pride is creating content that is both quality and informative for my readers. I’m happy to know you enjoyed! If you need help with anything let me know!

  5. Hi,

thank you for that great information, very clear and detailed. I understand that a niche has to do with reaching out to people with the content they are looking for, but I still have this question.

How is it possible to make a whole blog about something narrowed down to such a small group of people?

Just wondering, and again, thanks for the information 🙂

    1. That really is a great question!
When you start your blog with a narrow niche. You want it to be found with online. There is many ways to do. Say your idea is that you know how to drive a golf ball further than anyone. You can have an overview of how you know this. clubs you recommend, proper technique, common mistakes when striking the ball, and just keep going on and on about improving someones drive length. As your blog becomes bigger you can always expand your niche for a further reach! You just need to begin by getting noticed by the people who are searching for you! I hope this example helps!

  6. Great post, Kurtis. I think picking a niche is one of the hardest parts of getting started online. For some, it’s a matter of not really being passionate about anything. For others, it’s too many interests, making it hard to narrow down to just one. I think once you get past that hurdle, it becomes easier to proceed.

    1. Andy,

That is always a problem. Not have any interests you think would work online. But we have some interests and we share them with people all around the world. Just have to go with your gut! Too many interests now that does sound like a good problem to have.
