Why you should quit your job

Why are so many of us stuck at a job that we absolutely hate?

You have the power and skill to do whatever you want. I do not care if you only have a high school education or a masters degree from some accredited university. If you hate your job, you need to quit and move on from it today!

When did we stop doing things we loved all the time and only save those things for the weekends when we have our free time from our crap jobs?

In all of our lives, we use to dream of what we wanted to do and be. Maybe some of us followed that dream and realized it sucks!

If you are not happy where you are, you need to change it.

What would make you happy?

It is pretty simple to figure out. Take away money as your motivator for a job. If you had to wake up every day to do something you loved, what would it be?

writer, veterinarian, help people, firefighter, painter, read books, play sports.

This question might seem stupid to some. Because you’d say well I still need to make money. You can make money doing this, but more importantly, you will be happy doing something you love!

Trust me, I have been there. I know how it feels to be so miserable at a job you can barely wake up in the morning. Come home at night so angry for feeling so stuck. The best thing I ever did was quit that job. That is how I grew as a person and it is how you will grow as a person too!

No matter who you are, if you hate your job you should quit for anyone of these reasons.

  1. You are not learning anything new.
  2. You do not have any role models, guides, or mentors at your job.
  3. You are bored at work.
  4. You are severely underpaid.
  5. You are always working because there is too much to do with too little time to finish it all.
  6. You finish something meaningful and no one notices.
  7. You can’t express good ideas for your job to your boss.
  8. You do not have a way to advance or grow inside your job.
  9. You have tension between your boss and co-workers.
  10. You hate to go to work or even think about work.

All we have here is too little time. If we have to work shouldn’t we make it something we enjoy doing? I know how it feels to be at a job and have every single one of those factors at work. Worst two years of my life!

You have talents and skills right now to find a much better job. The only thing you might be missing is understanding what your strengths are and how to leverage them for your own benefit.

The level of education you have completed is not always a precursor to how successful you will become in the future. Having many years of education after high school is going to leave you with mass amounts of debt and a very good probability of being stuck in a career or job you hate!

The best decision I made for myself was to begin self-employment. I can tell you from personal experience, you do not have to be the smartest, most creative, or most educated. All you truly need to become your own boss is the determination, motivation, and self-drive to be an entrepreneur.

Review – #1 online platform to begin entrepreneurship.

  1. Great article! Who would not like to change direction and become in charge of his own destiny?
I am working on it, but not ready jet to use the finger 🙂 Let’s get the replacement income into place first!
After al bills need to get paid… Work in progress!

    1. Luc, I know how it is you want to have something safe to fall back on. Sometimes diving right in can be irresponsible. BUT, sometimes that’s exactly what you need to do to make sure you go all in! You sometimes need to work at it like it’s your only option of survival. Having a sense of urgency when you begin can really help push you through. That is what I did, found a great place to learn, and said to myself, sink or swim let’s do this. I do not regret it for a second.

  2. I agree that if you are not doing something you love you need a change. It can be sccary to make that change but it must be done. The ten reasons to leave your job are great indicators of why you should leave.

    1. That’s why I made this post. I wanted to try to give people a push who are stuck in a place they hate. Change might be scary but it feels good and you’ll be happy you did it.

  3. Hi Kurtis,

This is a great article. Many of us feel that we’re stuck, but still are satisfied with secure the 9-5 job provides us. The few of us says enough is enough and do whatever we can to break free from our day job.

In order to quit your job and start something for yourself. You have to have the right mindset and passion. Giving up is not an option! When you fail, learn from it and never give up before you have reached your goals. That is how you succeed!

Keep up the good work my friend.

    All the best,

  4. Hi Kurtis, I have really enjoyed looking over the content on your website. Your ideas are really inspiring me to come up with better content for my first website. Joining WA with a year membership was really the best investment I could make for myself. I have just barely started building content with my themes, and after reading through yours, I am amazed with what you have done! Thank you for sharing.

    1. Foster,

Thank you very much. I really focus hard on providing quality content for all my visitors. If I can help educate others and point them in a direction where I learned how to do this even better!

If you need any help just let me know!
